Undergraduate Research

Although I have had no prior undergraduate research experience, the University of Central Florida (UCF) offers extensive research opportunities. Research experience will be very important if I decide to go to graduate school, and I am interested in areas of research within the medical field, specifically the nursing profession at UCF.

Mindi Anderson, PhD, APRN, CPNP-PC, CNE, CHSE-A, ANEF, FAAN, FSSH, is the Healthcare Simulation Program Director, Simulation Research Coordinator, and a Professor at the University of Central Florida College of Nursing. Anderson's research includes virtual and game-based simulation, new simulation technologies, standardized patients, interprofessional education using simulation and use of simulation in preparing students for nursing practice. In the UCF College of Nursing an important part of learning is learning through the simulation lab, where students can practice hands on clinical skills on realistic human simulations. This ensures students are prepared to perform tasks in clinical on real patients and have experience on performing bedside procedures. I would be interested in collecting data and doing research on simulation technologies, as it is extremely part of nursing school and my curriculum and I would love the opportunity to help it grow and continue to get more advanced.
